Structure:

  • Each course has specific objectives and runs in weekly cycles over a pre-defined period.
  • New content will be published and new assignments given on a weekly basis.
  • A class consists of approximately 40 students and 4 tutors.
  • The discussions within a course are private, meaning that it is only visible to those registered for the course. Individuals are obviously free to republish content with the permission of the authors of that content.

Activities:

  • Once a student enrolls for a course, notifications of the agenda, schedule and assignments will be send prior to the course start date. Your preferences for notifications can be modified as follows: Sign-in, Go to ‘My Account’ at the top of the window, go to ‘Settings’, click on ‘Notifications’. Each Course also has ‘Notification’ options that you can change.
  • During each week period, they main activity will be the online discussions. One can participate at any time, but we do also plan to have specific periods where the tutors will available.
  • In addition to the online discussions, there will be an assignment that consists of a short essay. This essay should be posted as a new forum topic.
  • The topic name must follow the following naming convention: <Member Name> – Assignment <#> Example: “Paul Brown – Assignment 1″
  • Everyone in the class is welcome to ask questions or comment on the essay.
  • If for any reason a student does not want to publish the essay, a private message containing the essay can be send to the tutor.

Benefits:

  • Smaller and private communities provide a better opportunity to develop meaningful relationships.
  • Focussed content means that the conversations won’t be easily pulled off track.
  • Not everyone is ready to declare his or her convictions to a worldwide audience. Schoolofgrace endeavours to create an environment in which honest questions can be asked amongst fellow believers.

Cost:

  • Free at this stage, and we hope to keep it that way.
